Manufacturing ERP technology expert NexSys has teamed up with the independent sales software sales company Aspin to create integration middleware, which will ensure businesses can put the customer firmly at the heart of their business sales process.
The partnership arose following the latest release earlier this year of NexSys’s DataSwitch 8, a purpose-built systems integration and data manipulation tool aimed at the manufacturing sector. Aspin provides applications for the manufacturing and distribution sectors, including its feature-filled offline iPad catalogue ordering app PixSell.
Both businesses realised their clear synergies and decided to give their technical experts the task of coming up with an integrated solution which would help customers and reduce deployment times. The collaboration resulted in the development of an integrated software, which acts as an interface between Syspro DataSwitch and Aspin’s DataBridge cloud.
The new middleware provides the integration point to facilitate the exchange of data between DataSwitch and DataBridge cloud. This means customer history product and pricing information can be exchanged with Aspin’s DataBridge, passing orders back for direct import into SYSPRO ERP.
Aspin’s digital catalogue, with its offline facility, provides sales team with up-to-date customer information, sales history, stock levels, product images, PDFs and videos. This gives sales staff the information they need at their fingertips, which in turn optimises the customer experience.
Beyond initial sales, field agents will have the ability to access complete information in regards to previous customer purchases. This will enable companies to tailor materials relating to specific promotions and new products, offering a truly personalised experience.
Speaking about the collaboration, Nathan Aspin, Managing Director at Aspin said: “The work of Aspin and NexSys perfectly complement each other. The middleware created by our collaboration will serve as a significant tool for a wide scope of industries from manufacturing, distribution and beyond, ensuring an enhanced customer experience remains the central focus for businesses. At Aspin, we are extremely excited about the potential of this software and our continued working relationship with NexSys.”
The middleware was first presented at NexSys’s annual two day customer event which took place at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry. The event brought together NexSys, customers and third parties to examine how business can leverage value from technology.
It also provided the opportunity for the two companies to display the middleware through a series of demonstrations and workshops. The result was both positive feedback and a significant amount of interest from a wide scope of businesses looking to empower their mobile salesforce and distributors.
Speaking about the collaboration, Darren Edwards, Production Adoption Manager at NexSys said: “Technical experts from NexSys and Aspin spent two days integrating the two products. We felt we needed to respond to market trends to meet industry and customers’ expectations, which have changed significantly over the last few years. In order to remain competitive, manufacturers now need to move away from the product offering mindset and offer a more service-led model. Enabling offline customer service and order entry is just one of the many features that will allow companies to empower businesses to offer a truly personalised experience.”
