SYSPRO introduced a web UI, Avanti, with the release of SYSPRO 8 and has been improving the functionality with successive releases. This exciting capability allows users to access SYSPRO through the web-browser which is attractive, as this allows users to engage with SYSPRO on any device from anywhere without requiring any installation on the Windows desktop or device. However, it does mean additional system requirements for the application server as well as extra software to be installed and configured to support it. In particular, SYSPRO have noted a scalability issue that affect web UI performance once you exceed 30 users.
The scalability and performance of the SYSPRO Web UI (Avanti) offering has been bolstered by the release of the SYSPRO Application Gateway service that, together with Microsoft Windows containers, allows a much larger number of users to run on a single application server. NOTE: the system requirements have been updated to support this and require customers to be on Windows Server 2022: Datacentre Edition. We are currently busy reviewing the updates to understand what this means for NexSys customers and how we can best support you with this. We anticipate completing this review by summer 2023.
SYSPRO Web UI (Avanti) can be used in parallel with the SYSPRO Windows Client (Desktop) version, allowing you to use either version to complete the same task – they both use the same user credentials and concurrency licensing models. SYSPRO Web UI is designed to be similar to the SYSPRO Desktop version, making it easy to use. However, it is important to note that functionality is still being added to the web UI version and not all programs or functions may (yet) be available in the browser interface. Also, due to the nature of using a browser, there are differences in behaviour between the 2 user interfaces which means that you may not always be able to perform the same task in exactly the same way when accessing SYSPRO through the web UI as you could the desktop client.

NexSys has reviewed the Web UI functionality with each SYSPRO 8 release to assess its readiness for our customers and with previous releases we have been hesitant to recommend it for production use. We are thrilled with improvements introduced in the latest release and are actively reviewing them as noted above. If you are planning to roll out Avanti within your business we recommend that you review all the material above and that you are running the minimum recommended release per below as follows :
For less than 30 users :
• SYSPRO 8 2022
• Latest hotfixes and Avanti Services applied
• SYSPRO Reporting Services: server-side printing must be enabled if you are printing documents/clients using the web UI
• Ensure that in Setup > System Wide Personalisation > SYSPRO Avanti > Maximum number of sessions is reduced from 10 to 1
For more than 30 users:
• SYSPRO 8 2022
• Latest hotfixes and Avanti Services applied
• SYSPRO Reporting Services: server-side printing must be enabled if you are printing documents/clients using the web UI
• The SYSPRO Application Gateway service must be installed and configured
